First (1st) Timers Physics
Kindergarten through 3rd Grades

Unlock the door to the world of physical sciences. Come and explore activities that investigate sound and light energy. Staff will also teach children about air pressure. Each students will get refraction glasses.
 
Other standards addressed:
Students will...
  • Science 1.3.1 - ...develop an understanding of the characteristics of materials.
  • Science 4.3.3 - ...develop an understanding of light, heat, electricity and magnetism.
This project includes three visits by the 4-H office:
  1. To investigate how sound can travel.
  2. To find out how light rays slow down and can be bent.
  3. To learn about air pressure.

Fee for First Timers Physics: $40 per classroom (up to 30 students)
*Only available through speaker visits.
